What is the European Professional Card (EPC) and how do I apply for one in Cyprus?

The European Professional Card (EPC) is an electronic procedure for having your qualifications recognised in another EU country, either for temporary service or permanent establishment. To apply you sign in with EU Login through the European Commission Authentication Service (ECAS), complete your EPC profile, create an application, scan and upload the relevant documents as separate files, and submit them to your home country authority, using the Simulator to check the documents and fees required. Both home country and host country authorities could charge you fees to examine your file, though no specific amounts are stated. An EPC is valid indefinitely if you are settling long-term (establishment), while for temporary services it lasts 18 months in most cases or 12 months for professions which have an impact on public health or safety. The EPC currently applies to nurse responsible for general care, pharmacist, physiotherapist, mountain guide (not applicable in the Republic of Cyprus) and real estate agent.
